Presidency backs youths on technical, innovation, entrepreneurship

The Presidency has expressed confidence in the potential of Nigerian youths to excel in technical, vocational, and entrepreneurship education globally.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education (SSAP-TVEE), Dr. Abiola Arogundade, stated this in Abuja at the close of a ten-day training on Cybersecurity and Web Development under the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy (NPRGS).

Arogundade said the participants demonstrated that with the right incentives, they could attain high productivity levels. “I see young Nigerians who now carry renewed hope. You’ve proven that with access and investment, Nigerian youths are not the problem, but the solution,” she said.

She described the initiative as one that “unlocks dignity” and creates a future where no one is left behind. Commending the participants, she noted Abuja had “set the tone,” showing how practical, high-impact training can drive transformation.

She also applauded the facilitators and partners for their dedication, adding, “Our job is not finished. From here, we move on to other states, carrying the lessons and spirit from Abuja.”

Participants received laptops and certificates. Government officials present included Mr. Felix Okonkwo, Director of Micro-economies, and other top personnel from the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.

Meanwhile, a ten-day Solar Energy Installation training began on July 14, concluding the Abuja phase of NPRGS. Arogundade said the programme offers hands-on skills to address Nigeria’s dual challenges of energy access and unemployment.

“This is your launchpad. Approach each day with curiosity, discipline, and belief in your future,” she told participants.

She thanked President Tinubu for his leadership and the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning for their support, and expressed appreciation to the media for amplifying the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
