Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tiwatope Savage, popularly known as Tiwa Savage, has announced that her new album titled This One Is Personal will be released on August 29, 2025.

She made the announcement in an emotional Instagram post on Thursday, sharing a photo of herself seated on a tall stack of colourful mattresses, dressed in metallic fabric, holding a boombox, with music playing in the background.

According to her, the project took over two years to complete and was recorded across multiple cities, including Nashville, Malibu, San Francisco, London, and Lagos.

“The album is here,” she wrote. “Over 2 years. Recorded in Nashville, Malibu, San Francisco, London, Lagos. It has been a journey bringing this to life. Blood, sweat and literal tears included.”

The Somebody’s Son hitmaker revealed that the album captures different phases of her life, with songs inspired by both painful and joyful experiences.

“Some of these records were born out of pain and very dark times and some were from times that were brighter but every single song, every single vibe is something I went through,” she added.

Tiwa also said the new album is not about impressing anyone, but a true reflection of her feelings.

“This record isn’t about proving anything to anyone. It is me pouring my emotions in notes and creating music from my heart. Releasing this into the world almost feels like giving you guys a chunk of my heart.”

She described the album as her most personal work yet, ending her post with: “I’m excited, nervous, a bit scared but immensely grateful. This one is personal and it really is.”

The album is now available for pre-save across digital platforms.
