Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo, daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, has spoken about her experience during childbirth, saying her delivery came earlier than expected.
Priscilla, who welcomed a baby boy on Sunday with Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, shared her story on Snapchat on Monday.
She revealed that she was taken to the hospital around 3 a.m. after labour contractions began, adding that the pain left no room for the plans she had initially made for the moment.
In her words, “We had to rush to the hospital at 3 a.m.! Contractions isn’t a joke. All plans to slay at the hospital and create content were cancelled.”
The 24-year-old also disclosed that her son, named Rakeem, chose to arrive ahead of schedule, rather than on his father’s birthday, which had been his due date.
She wrote jokingly, “Me: Rakeem, your due date is the same as Papa. Rakeem: Please, this woman, I want my day alone. #juma_jux sorry, my love, your son wants to shine alone.”
The couple had first announced in July that they were expecting their child, sharing the news on Instagram. They later held a gender reveal party in Tanzania, where it was revealed they were expecting a boy.
In the weeks before delivery, Priscilla was also celebrated with a baby shower in Canada attended by her mother Iyabo Ojo, actress Lola Alao, and close friends.
Priscilla and Juma Jux tied the knot earlier this year in a series of wedding ceremonies held between February and May in both Tanzania and Nigeria.
