Nigerian singer Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, says becoming a father has given his life a new meaning and driven him to work harder than ever.

In an interview with Spotify, the award-winning singer said his greatest motivation now comes from being a husband and a father. According to him, his family is the centre of his life, and everything he does is to give his daughter a better life than he had.

“No matter where I go, my love remains the same,” he said. “All I want is to do more for my daughter. I can’t afford to bring her into the kind of life I grew up living. It has to be better. That’s why I hustle and work hard. My family is my centre. Everybody knows I don’t joke with them.”

Adekunle Gold, who is married to fellow singer Simi, added that while his music career is important to him, being a responsible father and man comes first. “I can afford to be a failed musician, but not a failed father or man,” he said.

His words have earned him praise on social media, especially on X, where fans applauded his sense of responsibility and values.

User @shuluemp wrote, “That line should be framed. Success in music isn’t just about charts and money; it’s about showing up for your people.”

Another user, @DonMike_X, added, “Anyone who can’t see that being a good parent outweighs any album or hit single hasn’t grown up yet.”
