With this in mind, her herb white rice and classic vanilla milkshake are sure to bring ease, flavour, and intention into your kitchen.
FOOD
Herb White Rice
This recipe shows how a simple pot of rice can be lifted with herbs and colour, without losing its comforting feel.
INGREDIENTS
White rice, thoroughly washed
Fresh parsley
Dill or rosemary
Green peas
Sweet corn
Sesame seeds
Deeply salted water
INSTRUCTIONS
Bring a pot of well-salted water to a boil and add the rice. Cook until tender.
When the water is almost absorbed, add the green peas and sweet corn. The steam will cook them gently while keeping their colour and bite.
Fold in the fresh parsley and your choice of dill or rosemary. Remove from heat and finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Chef Kin’s serving suggestion
Serve as a fragrant base for sauces or proteins of choice. Simple food, prepared with care, always stands out.
DRINK
Classic Vanilla Milkshake
Fresh from her kitchen studio, Chef Kin introduces a drink she describes as a foundation. Simple, smooth, and easy to build on.
INGREDIENTS
2 cups cold full cream milk
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 to 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 to 2 teaspoons sugar or honey, optional
INSTRUCTIONS
Blend all ingredients until thick and smooth.
Serve immediately.
Chef Kin’s pro tip
Chill your glass before serving. It helps keep the milkshake colder and improves its texture.
