Nollywood actress Roseline Meurer has responded to rumours surrounding her marriage to businessman Olakunle Churchill, denying claims that she unfollowed her husband on Instagram and rejecting long-standing allegations about her relationship with his ex-wife, Tonto Dike.

In a series of videos shared on her Instagram page, Meurer said she decided to speak out after years of false narratives about her marriage.

She explained that she has been receiving calls from people asking why she unfollowed her husband. Showing her phone screen in the video, she maintained that she still follows him and has no reason to unfollow him.

“I have never unfollowed my husband, and I never will,” she said. According to her, she was surprised by how quickly the claim spread online. She suggested that a technical issue or deliberate manipulation may have caused the confusion, but insisted she was not involved.

Meurer stated that she is happy in her marriage and is being treated well. She added that if there were ever any serious issue, she would address it openly rather than engage in subtle online gestures.

The actress also addressed claims that she was once close friends with her husband’s former wife, Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh, before marrying him.

For years, some social media users have alleged that Meurer was introduced to Churchill by Dikeh and later began a relationship with him. Others have claimed she was once Dikeh’s best friend.

In her video, Meurer firmly denied those allegations. She said she has never met Dikeh, never had her phone number and was never her friend.

“I was never my husband’s ex’s friend, not to talk of best friend,” she said. She challenged anyone with evidence to present it publicly.

Addressing a past interview in which she described Churchill as “like a brother” to her, Meurer explained that the statement reflected the nature of their relationship at the time.

According to her, Churchill supported her career and was close to her family. She said he would take her and her siblings out and was known to her relatives, which made her see him as a protective figure then.

“At that time, he was like a brother to me,” she said, adding that there was nothing romantic between them when she made the comment.

Meurer stated that she was younger and naïve during the period when online controversy first surrounded her relationship with Churchill. She said she only learned about the details of his issues with his ex-wife through the internet, just like members of the public.

Now, she said, she feels the impact of those narratives more strongly and believes it is better to speak for herself rather than allow others to define her story.

“I am not a bad person,” she added.

She further revealed that Churchill’s daughter is currently with her and that she is taking care of the child in her home. According to her, she believes children deserve access to both parents and said she would not stand in the way of reconciliation if the time is right.

Her comments come amid public attention on Churchill’s relationship with Dikeh.

In recent days, Churchill has been seen spending time with his son, King Andre, whom he shares with Dikeh.

Shortly after the reunion became public, rumours began circulating that Meurer had unfollowed her husband on Instagram, fuelling speculation about marital problems.

The actress, however, insisted that she is focused on her life and family, urging social media users to allow her husband to spend time peacefully with his son.
