Nollywood actress Roseline Meurer has issued another strong statement amid ongoing public scrutiny of her marriage to businessman Olakunle Churchill.

In a post shared on her Instagram story, Meurer addressed criticism over an old video interview she granted years ago, insisting that whatever she says now is “the real truth”.

She said she was young and inexperienced at the time of the earlier interview and felt overwhelmed by media attention.

“You want me to hang on to the nonsense old video I made years ago where I explained all sorts in fear,” she wrote. According to her, the controversy surrounding her relationship with Churchill was new to her then and she felt dragged into issues that did not concern her.

Meurer stated that Churchill, whom she described as being “like a brother” to her at the time, had apologised to her family because he knew she was unaware of the situation being discussed publicly.

She also claimed she was forced into public drama and violence, saying she did not fully understand what was happening around her at the time.

The actress further alleged that a public relations team influenced what she said in the past. She said she was made to say certain things for image management, even when she did not completely agree with them.

“Right now whatever I say is the real truth,” she wrote, adding that she is older and wiser and cannot be intimidated.

She maintained that no PR team can force her to say anything against her will now. According to her, she is speaking based on her own understanding of her life and experiences.

Meurer also responded to claims that she knew Churchill before he married his former wife, Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh.

“I knew my husband before he got married. Why I no follow am that time?” she wrote, questioning suggestions that she deliberately waited until after his marriage to pursue a relationship with him.

She dismissed accusations that she intentionally entered his life after his marriage, urging critics to remain silent if they do not know the full story.

Her latest comments come after she publicly denied unfollowing Churchill on Instagram, following speculation sparked by his recent reunion with Dikeh and their son, King Andre.

Meurer shared a series of videos denying rumours that she had unfollowed her husband after he was seen spending time with his son.

Churchill was previously married to Dikeh, and the pair share a son together. Their relationship ended publicly and was followed by years of online exchanges and allegations.

The businessman later married Meurer, and the couple have since built a family together.
