Actress and fashion influencer Temi Otedola is expecting her first child with her husband, Afrobeats star Mr Eazi. The couple confirmed on Thursday in a heartfelt announcement that quickly sent social media into celebration mode.
The news was revealed through a joint Instagram post, where the couple shared a collection of elegant black-and-white maternity photographs alongside a short video from their pregnancy shoot. The images, which captured intimate moments between the pair, immediately drew admiration from fans and celebrities alike.
In the caption accompanying the post, Temi quoted a Bible verse from Jeremiah 1:5, writing, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” The message, simple yet deeply personal, gave followers a glimpse into the emotional significance of the moment for the couple.
The announcement also put an end to months of speculation surrounding a possible pregnancy. Rumours had circulated online since early in the year, with fans closely watching Temi’s public appearances and social media updates. However, the couple chose to keep the journey private until they were ready to share the news on their own terms.
Temi later opened up about the experience in an exclusive interview with People magazine, revealing that she discovered she was pregnant during the couple’s honeymoon at the end of 2025. According to her, the trip was a two-month digital-detox getaway across South Korea and Japan, designed to help them recover from an intense year filled with wedding celebrations and public attention.
Their wedding journey had stretched across multiple countries and ceremonies, including a court wedding in Monaco, a traditional Nigerian wedding in Dubai, and a church wedding in Iceland. Following the ceremonies, Temi officially adopted her husband’s surname, updating her social media profiles to reflect the name Ajibade.
The 30-year-old daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola admitted that the early months of pregnancy were physically demanding, describing the first trimester as a period marked by exhaustion and “all-day sickness.” Still, she said she has grown to appreciate the slower pace that pregnancy has brought into her life.
“I love how pregnancy forces you to slow down,” she told People.
Meanwhile, Mr Eazi, whose real name is Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, has reportedly remained fully involved throughout the experience, supporting his wife as they prepare to welcome their first child together.
