Controversial Nollywood actress and social media personality, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, has said she doesn’t envy married couples in a recent social media post. The actress shared her thoughts on marriage, the pressure often placed regarding marital status, and the importance of personal growth, noting that she harbours no envy toward those who are married.
She said, “Growth sometimes looks like walking away.” Walking away from people, places, habits, and situations that no longer align with the person you’re becoming. Not out of anger, bitterness, or pride but out of self-respect. Some chapters are meant to end so new ones can begin. I’ve learned that protecting your peace is not selfish, and letting go is often the bravest form of self-love.”
She emphasised that abandoning toxic environments is essential for happiness.
“If it no longer serves your purpose, your happiness, or your growth, it’s okay to leave it behind. The right things won’t require you to abandon yourself to keep them.”
“You think I envy married people? God forbid. 80% of the ones I once admired are now back on the streets. Who marriage help, abeg?” She noted.
