A week ago, placards started showing up on the streets of Lagos. No logo. No brand. Just three words and a question mark hanging over the entire country: Radio Is Dead. By the time the same placards turned up in Abuja, then Benin City, the internet had already run away with it, with timelines split into two camps, comment sections turned into full-blown debates, and nobody, not even the people arguing, could say who had started it.

Today, Lounge Network stepped forward and ended the guessing game.

The network pulled back the curtain in the best way it knows how: on air, live, with a familiar voice. Ehiz Dadaboy is back on air, stepping into the studio as the new centrepiece host of Lounge FM Lagos breakfast show. At 6:00 a.m., in front of a mic, Dadaboy addressed the mystery himself;

Lounge Network has revealed the faces behind its viral ‘Radio Is Dead’ campaign, introducing Ehiz Dadaboy as host of the new Lounge FM Lagos breakfast show alongside a refreshed on-air lineup across its stations.

“What do you all mean by Radio Is Dead? Radio is Active!”

The reveal video, released simultaneously across Lounge FM’s digital platforms,  opened with Dadaboy walking into the studio,  phone in hand, scrolling through the very tweets, Instagram reels, and heated arguments the placards had set off. He couldn’t help but smile at some of them, proof that the country really had spent a whole week arguing about a sign nobody explained.

But the reveal wasn’t only about one show or one host. It marked the reintroduction of the full Lounge Network family, and every station in it played its own part in bringing the moment home.

Lounge FM Lagos is where it all came together. As the home of the new breakfast show and Ehiz Dadaboy’s return, it’s the epicentre of this morning’s reveal, and the station young Lagos professionals are already calling the biggest radio campaign of the year.

Rewind FM answered the moment with heart. Their week-long “Radio Raised Us” tribute pulls from the archives, iconic Nigerian radio moments, first-hit records, listener call-ins reliving the day the news broke on air, all built for an audience that grew up with radio as the soundtrack to everyday life.

Bside FM Benin brought its own energy entirely. Where Lagos got English and Abuja got calm, Benin got Pidgin, on-air talent answering the “Radio Don Die” placards in their own local voice, with humour that could only come from Bside. It’s proof the campaign never needed one single tone to work, just the right voice for the right city.

Lounge FM Abuja isn’t finished yet. The station is holding its own reveal for later this month,  a new on-air voice for Abuja’s upwardly mobile listeners, proof that today’s reveal is the start of a bigger rollout across the entire Lounge Network map, not the end of it.

Alongside Dadaboy, listeners are getting reacquainted with the voices they hear from every day: Joukieee,  Kelvin-AB,  Simon, May9, Eniiv, Kelechi, and ChinnyGodwin, the on-air personalities who, together, are the everyday sound of Lounge Network, across every one of its stations.

This campaign was never about proving radio was dying.  It was about proving what happens when radio remembers how to surprise people, and it is clear that Lounge FM’s new breakfast show is the answer to that question, and with this line-up, across every one of their stations, it may seem that they’re just getting started.”

The new Lounge FM Lagos breakfast show airs weekday mornings from 6:00  a.m.,  with listener call-ins,  live reactions to the “Radio Is Active” conversation, and appearances from the very voices on both sides who kept the debate alive.
