In a very warm and wonderful moment of supporting young talent, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, also known as Yayi, has given a seven-year-old boy named Kendis a cash gift of N2.5 million and a full scholarship that will take him all the way through university. This wonderful reward happened after a drawing the young boy made of the senator spread all over social media and went viral.
The special meeting happened during the Scholarship and Bursary Award Ceremony, where the talented young boy was invited as a very special guest so everyone could celebrate him. Thinking back on the drawing that caught his eye, Senator Adeola shared how much he admired the boy’s amazing artistic skills.
He stated, “We were deeply inspired by the exceptional talent of seven-year-old Kendis, whose portrait of us went viral on social media.”
Knowing how important it is to support raw talent while children are still very young, the senator explained why he decided to honor the little boy with such a massive gift. He talked about inviting him to the event to give him financial support and a guaranteed education. He explained, “We invited the young artist to our Scholarship and Bursary Award Ceremony, where we presented him with a cash gift of N2.5 million and a full scholarship up to university level in recognition of his remarkable creativity and to encourage him to keep pursuing his dreams.”
This memorable moment happened during the 3rd Yayi Scholarship/Bursary Award Programme; a yearly program set up to give financial help and school support to students in different higher institutions. The main program usually helps older students in universities and colleges.
For Kendis, this life-changing gift does more than just secure his education all the way to university. It also gives him the confidence and financial backing to keep working on his art as he grows older.
Supporters and fans have continued to talk about the heartwarming event, noting how much it means for a young artist to be recognized so early in life.
