Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has reflected on the ridicule and painful comments he and his wife, actress Adebimpe Oyebade, popularly known as Mo Bimpe, faced before welcoming their triplet sons.

Adedimeji shared their experience in an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday, months after the couple announced the birth of their children.

The actor said people made false claims, questioned their marriage and mocked them during the years they waited to become parents.

According to him, the pressure sometimes came through private conversations and direct remarks. However, the couple decided against responding to every accusation or explaining their personal struggles publicly.

“They spoke, Allah answered,” he wrote.

“The mockery. The lies. The stigma. The assumptions. The things said behind our backs and sometimes, right to our faces. There was a time when the whispers were louder than our prayers.”

Adedimeji explained that he and his wife had several opportunities to confront their critics but chose to rely on their faith.

He continued, “There were moments we could have fought back. Moments we could have explained ourselves. Moments we could have tried to prove people wrong. But we chose silence. Because we knew something they didn’t… Allah was writing our story.”

The actor described the arrival of their three sons as an answer to years of private prayers. He said their experience taught him that not every rumour or insult deserved a response.

Adedimeji wrote, “When Allah writes your story, you don’t need to fight every lie. You don’t need to answer every accusation. You don’t need to convince everyone. Just wait for His timing.

“Today, I stand beside my wife, looking at our three beautiful boys, and I can only say: Subhanallah. Three boys. Three blessings. Three miracles. Three answers to prayers only Allah knew about.

“What people thought would break us, Allah used to build us. What people used to mock, Allah turned into our testimony. What people spoke about in darkness, Allah brought into the light. They had their opinions. Allah had His plan. And His plan was greater.”

Adedimeji also praised Mo Bimpe for remaining strong throughout their difficult journey.

“To my wife #mo_bimpe, we have been through a journey that only we truly understand. Thank you for standing, even when standing wasn’t easy. Thank you for believing, even when the world gave us reasons to doubt,” he added.

Addressing their children, the actor said they might one day learn about the challenges their parents experienced before their birth.

“One day, you may hear the story of what your parents went through before you arrived. You may never fully understand the tears, the prayers, the waiting, and the battles.

“But always remember this: You were prayed for. You were waited for. You were fought for. And Allah brought you to us in His most beautiful time.”

Adedimeji said he no longer wanted to seek revenge or prove anything to those who had judged the couple.

“So today, I don’t want revenge. I don’t want explanations. I don’t want to prove anything anymore. I just want to say ALHAMDULILLAH. Because sometimes the best response to those who counted you out is to let them watch Allah count your blessings.”

Before the latest post, Mo Bimpe had shared a video ahead of the family’s thanksgiving ceremony. She described her journey into motherhood as one that moved from waiting and tears to wonder and gratitude.

The couple announced the arrival of their triplet boys in May 2026. The news attracted congratulatory messages from fans and other figures in the Nigerian film industry.

Their story followed years of online speculation about their marriage and questions concerning when they would have children.

During an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo in January 2025, Adedimeji revealed that social media users had repeatedly attacked his wife over the issue.

“My wife and I have received a lot of trolling. Recently, someone called her barren on social media. She would always show it to me and say she would be all right,” he said.

Lateef and Mo Bimpe married in December 2021 after appearing together in several Yoruba-language films. Beyond their marriage, the pair have continued to collaborate on film projects, including Adedimeji’s historical production, Lisabi.

The actor previously credited his wife with supporting him when some people he expected to help him during the production were unavailable.
