Lagos-based artist Badejo Gbolahan Solomon, professionally known as Sol3x, is set to release his new single, “Heart Desire”, on August 21, 2026.
Produced by Tearshirt, the song explores romance and emotional intimacy, offering a more personal side of the emerging artist’s sound.
“Heart Desire” brings together Sol3x’s songwriting and performance with Tearshirt’s production, with the record centred on the expression of romantic feeling.
The single represents a shift from some of the themes that have characterised Sol3x’s earlier releases, giving the artist room to explore vulnerability, affection and the emotional complexities of relationships.
Born in Lagos on September 22, Sol3x has gradually built his catalogue with releases including “JO”, “Climax”, “Hustler’s Anthem (Freestyle)” and “Higher”.
Much of his earlier material has explored ambition, perseverance and the challenges of pursuing success. “Heart Desire” takes a different route, placing romance and emotional connection at the centre of the music.
Love songs remain a familiar part of Nigerian popular music, making originality and execution important for emerging artists working within the genre.
For Sol3x, the new record provides an opportunity to approach the subject through his own songwriting and performance style, with the production by Tearshirt shaping the song’s overall sound.
The single also arrives as Sol3x continues to build his career independently. Without the backing of a major record label, the artist has relied on consistent releases and direct engagement with listeners while distributing his music across platforms including Spotify, Audiomack, Boomplay and Apple Music.
His approach reflects the wider opportunities available to emerging Nigerian musicians through digital distribution, which has reduced some of the traditional barriers between independent artists and audiences outside their immediate markets.
For Sol3x, “Heart Desire” is therefore both a love song and another step in the development of his artistic identity.
As he continues to expand his catalogue, the single gives listeners a chance to hear a softer and more vulnerable side of an artist whose earlier work has largely focused on ambition and perseverance.
