Nigerian artist, entrepreneur and philanthropist Don Crucifixto marked his birthday by giving back to children in Ajegunle, Lagos, through his non-profit organisation, Life Is Us Foundation.
The birthday outreach saw Don Crucifixto and members of his team distribute school bags, educational materials and other school essentials to children in the community ahead of the new academic session.
The initiative was aimed at helping children return to school better prepared while easing some of the financial pressure on families preparing for the new term.
Giving back to children has remained an important part of Don Crucifixto’s philanthropic activities. Through Life Is Us, he has participated in outreach initiatives supporting children and underserved communities, with the organisation focusing on areas including education, healthcare and access to basic necessities.
For Don Crucifixto, the focus on children is deliberate. He believes every child should have the opportunity to learn, grow and build a better future regardless of their circumstances.
Speaking about the birthday outreach, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate another year by supporting others.
“Every year I’m blessed to see another year, I’m reminded that life is a gift and that we have a responsibility to use what we have to impact others. I especially believe in giving children a better chance at life, and being able to put smiles on their faces on my birthday means a lot to me.”
The Ajegunle outreach came as families prepared for the new school year, making the provision of school bags and learning materials particularly timely.
Beyond the distribution of school supplies, the organisers said the initiative was intended to encourage the children and reinforce the message that they are valued and deserving of opportunities to thrive.
