Nigerian singer Divine Uzama, popularly known as Zerry DL, has made his modelling debut at Lagos Fashion Week, walking the runway for Nigerian fashion designer Oshobor.

The singer appeared at the fashion showcase held at the Federal Palace Resort in Victoria Island, Lagos, during the 2026 edition of the event, which runs from October 28 to November 1.

Zerry DL wore a cropped, fringed top with orange accents and beige trousers for his runway appearance. His outfit and walk attracted attention on social media, where viewers shared humorous reactions to his performance.

Some fans joked about his catwalk, while others compared his outfit to a masquerade costume. The reactions turned the singer’s first modelling appearance into a talking point beyond the runway.

Known for his music, Zerry DL’s appearance marked a move into another part of the entertainment and creative industries. His participation also highlighted the growing relationship between Nigerian music and fashion, with musicians increasingly appearing at fashion shows and collaborating with designers.

Oshobor, the fashion label founded by Nigerian designer Peter Oshobor, is known for its experimental approach to fashion, combining imaginative presentation with contemporary silhouettes. The designer’s collections draw on creative influences that connect African identity with modern design.

The label previously presented its Night Has Come collection at Lagos Fashion Week in November 2025. The showcase featured a theatrical presentation that incorporated elements of performance, reflecting the designer’s interest in making the runway an experience beyond displaying clothes.

Lagos Fashion Week’s 2026 edition is themed CRAFTED: Heritage. Innovation. Circular Futures. The theme explores the relationship between traditional craftsmanship, contemporary design and more sustainable approaches to fashion production.

The annual event brings together African designers, models, buyers, fashion enthusiasts and other industry professionals to showcase collections and discuss developments within the fashion industry.

Zerry DL, who is the younger brother of Nigerian singer Shallipopi, gained wider recognition through his music, including the song Puff & Pass. His appearance at the fashion event adds modelling to his public-facing creative activities.

His runway debut also reflects the growing crossover between music and fashion in Nigeria, where performers increasingly participate in fashion showcases and collaborate with designers.

While his appearance attracted mixed reactions online, it demonstrated how fashion shows can bring together different areas of popular culture, with musicians becoming part of the spectacle alongside professional models and designers.
