Buhari said this during a closed door meeting with members of APC in the United States at the Nigerian Embassy Building in Washington DC.
The president thanked the members for their support for APC and promised to deliver on his promises to the Nigerian people. He expressed his commitment to fight corruption and terrorism, which he believed are the two major problems facing the country. President Buhari also promised to execute the APC manifesto, which is geared towards the improvement of the country’s economy and the welfare of the people.
In his remark, the chairman of APC-USA, Mr. Tony Isama, commended the president for offering himself for selfless service to the country.
He expressed APC-USA support to the president in his fight against corruption and terrorism, noting that the APC leaders’ stance for the supremacy of the party was commendable.
He stated that members of APC-USA were prepared and ready to assist Buhari’s administration in any area possible as they shared the president’s uncommon honesty, courage, impeccable character and incorruptible work ethics.
However, he expressed dissatisfaction with the Nigerian Embassy for the way it treated Nigerians, especially APC members and supporters, who had come in large numbers to interact with their president.
