Why go out to get milkshakes for your kids when you can easily make them at home? We’ve put together a basic milkshake recipe, which only requires milk and ice cream, and a few variations you can use to delight your kids.
*Basic recipe makes two milkshakes.

Ingredients
- 2 cups natural vanilla ice cream
- 1 to 1½ cups milk
- Flavourings of your choice (syrups, spices, fruits or nuts)
Method
- Put all the ingredients in a blender.
- Blend together until ingredients mix properly and are smooth.
- Serve chilled.
Variations
Chocolate milkshake
- 2 cups chocolate ice cream
- 1½ cups milk
- ¼ cup chocolate sauce

Banana milkshake
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1 ripe banana
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Strawberry milkshake
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups fresh strawberries
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

Oreo-cookie milkshake
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1½ cups milk
- 8 Oreo cookies
- 1 tbsp chocolate sauce

Lemon milkshake
- 1 cup vanilla ice cream
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 2 tbsp sugar
- ½ ripe banana
- 3 tbsp lemon concentrate
Orange milkshake
- 2 cups frozen yoghurt
- 1 cup non-fat milk
- ½ cup orange juice concentrate
- 2 tbsp ground flax seeds
