This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Education, Prof. Victor Inoka, during the South-South zonal meeting of Non-Governmental Association for Literacy Support Services (NOGALSS) in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
The commissioner revealed that the centres had over 30,000 learners, and that the meeting was attended by representatives of all the six states in the zone.
He said aside other interventions programmes, which have made adult literacy attractive in the state, more had to be done to sustain the status quo.
