Aletor, who spoke during a seminar/colloquium, organized by the Faculty of Arts and Education of the university, identified five fundamentals, which defines first-rate university, which the UAT has keyed into. “There are five fundamentals that defines a first-rate university, the quality of academic programs, research and innovation output, global visibility, how visible you are to the world, how globally employable your students are and your capacity to generate revenue from non government sources.”
The VC also said the university is evolving into a world class institution where every department, faculty and staff will be Information and Communications Technology (ICT) compliant adding that the university in just one year of existence has been able to attract world class level of internationalizations.
With the topic, ‘Computer-Assisted Language Learning: The Use of PRAAT,’ delivered by Demola Jolayemi, the vice chancellor, said the program was to allow members of the academia cross-pollinate ideas in their area of specialization.
Jolayemi, African first digitised Linguistic professor and Dean of the Faculty, UAT, emphasised on the important of PRAAT in learning and teachings which is a software used to analyse linguistic comp-oral, Thais linguistic matters to help see what we say.
