Tunde MacAlabi, CEO of T-BYK, in collaboration with the Centre for Black Arts and African Civilisation, has announced the launch of a major cultural event—the African Global Festival Nigeria (AGLOFEST). Set to debut in the last quarter of 2025, this highly anticipated festival will bring together cultural enthusiasts, artists, and thought leaders from across the globe to celebrate Africa’s rich heritage in grand style.
The inaugural edition of AGLOFEST promises to be an unforgettable experience, blending African music, dance, fashion, and creative industry products into a showcase of the continent’s vibrancy. With a long-term vision for sustainability, the festival is projected to inject over USD 20 billion into the Nigerian economy within the next five years.
More than just a festival, AGLOFEST is a movement aimed at uniting Africans and the Black diaspora through culture, creativity, and collaboration. Set against Nigeria’s rich historical and cultural landscape, the festival will feature an exciting programme, including live performances, cultural exhibitions, fashion showcases, business networking sessions, and panel discussions with some of the most influential voices in African and Black global culture.
Speaking on the vision behind AGLOFEST, Founder and Convener Tunde MacAlabi stated: “AGLOFEST will be a celebration of Black and African unity, strength, and cultural diversity. Scheduled to take place in Abuja, Lagos, and Uyo, our goal is to create a space where Africans and the diaspora can reconnect with their roots, share their stories, and forge partnerships that will drive the continent forward. This is more than just entertainment—it is about identity, legacy, and the future of African creativity.”
The festival’s programme will include a Business & Innovation Summit, offering a platform for discussions on Africa’s creative economy, entrepreneurship, and investment opportunities. Live music and dance performances will feature a star-studded line-up of African artists and traditional performers, while cultural exhibitions will showcase Africa’s finest artefacts, crafts, and historical treasures. The Fashion & Art Pavilion will highlight African-inspired designs and contemporary artworks from top designers and emerging talents. A dedicated gastronomy experience will celebrate the continent’s diverse culinary heritage, with a food village offering authentic African delicacies.
AGLOFEST is expected to attract thousands of attendees, including artists, cultural ambassadors, entrepreneurs, and government officials, making it one of the most significant cultural events on the continent. The festival enjoys the support of the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Creative Economy and Tourism, the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Air Peace Airline, and President Bola Tinubu, who serves as the Grand Patron and Chief Global Ambassador of AGLOFEST.
With AGLOFEST 2025 set to take centre stage, Africa’s cultural legacy is poised to shine on the global stage like never before.
