Visual Collaborative treats arts enthusiasts to an evening of performances

Art enthusiasts, policy influencers and various creative professionals of the African diaspora came together on Friday December 11th 2015 to celebrate an evening of talks and performances.

Visual Collaborative a platform which constantly redefines the concept of popups in its post-digital gatherings, held another version of its traveling shows, this time at a refurbished car dealership called the LUSTINE Center, a collaboration made possible with the Arts District Hyattsville Master Association in Prince George’s County.

A event titled “VANITY”, based on human nature, featured works and talks of the following Creatives; Stanley Agbontaen (Nigerian) a Muralist and renowned painter, Danielle Eckhart (America) a painter and art instructor, Mary “Mihert” Assefa (Ethiopian) a technologist and photographer, introducing vocalist new comers; Emanda Thomas Ph.D (America) an academic, Ola Abiola an HR professional (who is a daughter of the late Chief MKO Abiola.) A major highlight of the evening was set performances by music recording artist and Channel O’ Music Video Awards nominee TolumiDE. The resident Disc Jockey for the evening was DJ Rich, other performing guests were music producer and songwriter artist Mikahel Aharon and sound set engineer who accompanied TolumiDE, Kevin. The event was curated by polymath, Ade Abayomi Olufeko.

The intimate evening in the gatesway art district drew over 150 guests making the event a great success for the community and organizers.

“A core operating model of Visual Collaborative is to form relationships with art valued communities, transcending any barriers or business structures that prevent commercial entries for creative professionals in the global market place.” Says Ade Abayomi Olufeko. Through joint ventures the initiative strives to add unique value to the post-digital ecosystem.

Visual Collaborative founded in 2006 is a platform featuring visual artists, creatives, musicians and technologists. The goal of the events is to educate, entertain and communicate with society adding value to the domain of humanities. Visual Collaborative has previously partnered with foundations such as Voices for Children Miami. Visual Collaborative produces digital expositions and art events, and endorses sustainable technologies.
