Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta, has lost his son.
The 54-year-old film star made the disclosure on Saturday in a post on his Instagram page but did not give details about the cause of death.
Sharing a photo of the late boy, Chatta wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear son, champ.”
The post drew a flood of condolence messages from colleagues and fans who sympathised with him.
The development comes only days after veteran actress, Peju Ogunmola, lost her only son, Ayomikun, who died in Ibadan earlier in the week.
Both deaths have thrown the Nollywood industry into mourning, with many describing them as a heavy blow.
In June, Chatta had recalled how he lost his first child, a daughter, years ago. He blamed her death on poverty and poor access to medical care.
According to him, he could not afford a coffin at the time and was forced to bury her in an old Coca-Cola wooden crate.
