Akinpelu launches Performx Nexus to bridge strategy, execution gap

To help leaders and organisations turn plans into measurable results, Founder of AALD Company, Dr. Akin Akinpelu, has announced the launch of PerformX Nexus, a new leadership and performance initiative aimed at unlocking and amplifying Africa’s execution potential.

Speaking on the project, Akinpelu said while many African economies develop ambitious strategies, the challenge often lies in translating them into tangible outcomes.

PerformX Nexus, he said, provides year-round support for professionals, institutions, and policymakers through three core pillars: PerformX Summit, Impact Core and Horizon Council.

“Africa’s greatest competitive edge will come from how well we execute our ideas. This ecosystem is designed to bridge the gap between strategy and execution by helping leaders and organisations develop systems and cultures that drive real performance.”

Citing a Harvard Business Review study, he observed that about 67 per cent of well-formulated strategies fail due to poor execution, with the risk even higher in developing economies where fragmented leadership and limited institutional support often hinder performance.

The flagship entry point into PerformX Nexus is the PerformX Summit, slated for November 21–22, 2025, at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. The two-day gathering will bring together over 500 global attendees, 20 world-class speakers, and 50 exhibitors.

Confirmed speakers include Adesuwa Okunbo Rhodes, Russell Rogers, Somto Ifueze, George Omoraro, Dave Food and Dickson Nsofor, alongside other top voices in leadership, business, and policy.

The Summit, themed “Building Bold, Executing Smart, Performing Beyond” will feature keynotes, interactive panel sessions, power room, deal room and a networking gala evening for executives, investors, founders, and government leaders.

“PerformX Summit is not your typical gathering. It is a catalytic gathering designed to equip, challenge, and connect the doers—the people and organisations who understand that performance is not accidental, strategy must be dynamic, and execution is the ultimate equalizer.”
