The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has applauded the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led government for its commitment to address the nation’s economic, political, and security challenges and place the country on the path of prosperity.

In a statement to commemorate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary, the National President of NACCIMA, Kelvin Oye, said government efforts have repositioned Nigeria as one of Africa’s largest economies and ranking among the global top 20, driven by growth in sectors like agriculture, the creative industries, and the digital economy.

According to him: “On behalf of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), I am honoured to convey our heartfelt congratulations to our esteemed members, the private sector, and our respected President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary.

“This milestone celebrates the resilience and determination of the Nigerian people. As the voice of the organized private sector, NACCIMA acknowledges the government’s efforts to address the economic, political, and security challenges inherited at the inception of the current administration, while recognizing that some issues persist.

“Nigeria’s remarkable economic achievements are a source of great pride. As of 2024, the country has emerged as one of Africa’s largest economies and ranks among the global top 20, driven by growth in sectors like agriculture, the creative industries, and the digital economy. With over 220 million people, Nigeria remains the most populous nation in Africa,” he said.

The NACCIMA chief also noted the country’s active role in UN peacekeeping and regional integration efforts through ECOWAS and the AU are testaments to Nigeria’s growing international influence.

The association noted that despite economic headwinds, it remains hopeful that through collaboration, innovation, and commitment to nation-building, the private sector will continue to drive Nigeria’s growth and development.
