NLC tasks state govs on CNG-powered buses deployment
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on governors to complement the efforts of the Federal Government by donating more compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered buses to ease workers’ challenges.
The demand followed the donation of 60 CNG-powered buses by the Federal Government to the NLC to convey workers to their various workplaces across the federation as part of the effort to address the challenges of the high cost of transportation since the government increased fuel prices.
NLC President, Joe Ajaero, made the demand in Ibadan, Oyo state, at the weekend, during the unveiling of 10-powered CNG buses to the South West zone.
He said the gesture would go a long way to address challenges caused by high transportation costs.
The NLC boss said that 10 CNG buses to Southwest is a drop in the ocean, thereby calling on more governors to complement the Federal Government’s gesture.
