Police arrest female-led theft syndicate in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has announced the arrest of a female-led syndicate of thieves.
According to a post on the official X account of the Kano State Police Command, Shamsiyya Adamu and her partners in crime were on Tuesday arraigned before a Chief Magistrates Court 18 Gyadi-Gyadi for criminal conspiracy, trespass and theft.
The police added that four more suspects were arrested, and 12 mobile phones recovered, with investigations ongoing.
“Notably, 86 people have lodged complaints against the suspects, highlighting the extent of their nefarious activities,” the statement read.
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, has also directed the continuation of the recovery of stolen phones while appreciating the public’s support and co-operation.
