It appears that while the world was dancing to hit track “Jerusalema” by South African DJ Master KG, Warner Music was gathering licenses to send in Germany. We know this because reports reveal that Warner Music demanded license fees after several police forces in Germany took part in the “Jerusalema” viral dance challenge. Since the dance went viral, staff at businesses, hospitals, police and other workplaces around the world have filmed themselves dancing to “Jerusalema” as a way of spreading good cheer during the pandemic. In Warner’s defence, if “organisations in Germany use the song to promote themselves, we think they should secure a dubbing licence.”

It is just February, and the World Health Organization has given surprising facts. The Health Organization stated that more than 1.2 million abortions were performed worldwide in the first 10 days of 2021.
In a report by Worldometer, about 40-50 million abortions are performed worldwide each year, which works out to be about 125,000 abortions every single day. While between 2015 and 2019, on average, 73.3 million induced (safe and unsafe) abortions occurred worldwide each year. Abortion is the leading cause of death in the world. Second is heart disease, with cancer rounding out the top three.

In 2019, Obinwanne Okeke popularly known as Invictus Obi was in the news again. Only four years before, he was listed in the 30 under 30 list of a magazine as one of Africa’s Most Promising Entrepreneurs. His Invictus Group claimed to have investments in oil and gas, construction, energy solutions, technology, and agriculture. Then in 2020, his cover was blown: a fraud invested in computer and wire fraud to the tune of $11 million. In his latest update, Obi has been sentenced to a 10-year jail term for computer and wire fraud by an American court after pleading guilty. Hmm… lessons, lessons.
Gorilla Glue
Good news from the other side of Gorilla Glue. Tessica Brown, the woman who used Gorilla Glue on her hair, will be donating £14,000 ($20,000) to charity after a Ghanian doctor, Dr Obeng, removed the adhesive from her hair for free.
Recall that the gorilla glue was used as a hair spray and baffled medics in Louisiana, USA, after their solvent acetone only made the Gorilla Glue sticky again and burnt the influencer’s scalp. Tessica set up a GoFundMe page which raised more than £16,000 ($23,000) minus the wigs. Now, she will be donating £14,000 to the Restore Foundation, a charity found by Dr Obeng for those needing reconstructive surgery.

Tonto Dike’s ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill introduced his former Personal Assistant, actress Rosy Meurer, who was at the centre of his divorce as his wife in a new post on social media generating a buzz on social media. This announcement follows the allegations made against him by his ex-wife, Tonto Dike, about his relationship with Rosy which he (and Rosy) vehemently denied. Tonto also revealed that she is one of the reasons for her marital crisis, which eventually led to a divorce. Now in an Instagram post celebrating Rosy’s birthday, he wrote he is appreciating her because she encouraged him when things went awry.
