The newly appointed Youth Ambassador for Lagos State, Osawere Austin Dayo, met with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the State House on Wednesday.

Dayo, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, drew national attention for a viral video showcasing his passionate dance with students at his assigned school, King’s College Lagos.

The video, which was initially shared with mockery, eventually received positive attention, leading to Dayo’s appointment as Youth Ambassador.

Dayo, on Thursday, recounted his encounter with Governor Sanwo-Olu, stating that the governor welcomed him with “fatherly treatment.”

“I met with Greatness, His Excellency, Governor Sanwo-Olu,” Dayo wrote on his X handle.

“He welcomed me with a smile, gave me a handshake, and gently placed his arm around my shoulder while he discussed with me. I felt like a baby at once. What a fatherly treatment!”

Meanwhile, Mobolaji Ogunlende, Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, also commented on the meeting, stating that the gesture from the “ youth-centric governor” was a recognition of Dayo’s commitment and dedication to serving the younger generation selflessly.

“For Osapline, this meeting was more than just a validation of his passion; it was a reaffirmation of his belief that despite the challenges we face, there is always a glimmer of hope on the horizon,” Ogunlende said.

“It was a reminder that every small step taken towards positive change has the power to ripple outward, transforming lives and communities in its wake.”

Sanwo-Olu, according to Ogunlende, has “tasked them with keeping Dayo involved and providing support to help him expand his efforts to positively impact the lives of others in the state.”
