The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) said that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 17 programs after fulfilling the accreditation requirements.

Mr. Ibrahim said that the Federal University of Lafia achieved 100 per cent success in the 2023 and 2024 NUC accreditation exercise.
He noted that the institution has demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence by achieving 100 per cent success in the 2024 accreditation exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

The breakdown of the accreditation is as follows: Faculty of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Forestry and Wildlife; Faculty of Allied Health Science, Medical Laboratory Science.

The spokesperson of the institution ascribed the success of the exercise to the hard work of academic and non-academic staff, the dedication of students, and the robust leadership of the University Management under Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman and his team.
“We are deeply honoured by this achievement. It is a clear reflection of FULafia’s growing reputation for academic integrity, program quality, and continuous development. We remain committed to maintaining and surpassing these standards.”
Ibrahim recalled that according to the NUC, full accreditation status remains valid for five years, while interim accreditation is valid for two years, after which programs are reassessed.
He assured that the University is already addressing observations from the interim report to ensure Nursing Science secures full accreditation at the next review.
“FULafia continues to forge ahead as one of Nigeria’s leading public universities, dedicated to nurturing future leaders and delivering high-quality education,” Ibrahim promised.
