Ronik celebrates excellence at valedictory, awards ceremony

Parents, teachers and community leaders recently gathered at Ronik Comprehensive School’s valedictory programme to celebrate not just grades and trophies, but the resilience, discipline, and moral grounding of the graduating class of 2025.

The event spotlighted the role of education in shaping character as much as intellect.

Chairman of the occasion, Ifeanyi Ezeogba, set the tone with a call on the graduating students to see education as a lifelong responsibility.

“Graduation is not an ending, but a launchpad. What this country needs are young minds, sharp with facts and wise in judgment, ambitious yet kind. Let your education teach you responsibility, integrity, and service,” Ezeogba said.

He commended the school management for instilling values beyond academics, while urging the students to reject corruption and embrace innovation.

“Leadership is not a title; it is service. Your degree and talent are tools, but what will define you is how you choose to use them,” he said.

In her welcome address, the Principal, Mrs Victoria Duru, described the event as a celebration of “hard work, growth, and the bright promises of the future.”

She congratulated the outgoing students for their perseverance and urged them to carry the school’s values into the next chapter of their lives.

“To our graduating class, you have matured and emerged stronger through every challenge. As you step into the next phase of life, our prayer is for you to shine brighter,” she said.

Highlighting the school’s strengths, Duru noted that Ronik Comprehensive School remains committed to producing well-rounded students, who excel not only in academics, but also in sports and character development.

Vice Chairman of Ronik Group of Schools, Dr Adebola Olubanjo, reinforced the institution’s achievements in academics, sports, and language development.

“We are equipping our students with the ability to thrive globally. Our focus on English, French, and Chinese opens doors to scholarships and international opportunities,” he stated.

Both the outgoing Head Boy, Ben-Amu Victor, and Head Girl, Sarah Opara, expressed gratitude to the school for shaping their character and moral values.

The ceremony also featured award presentations to outstanding students in academics, sports, and character.
