Taraba State made a strong case for investment and manpower development at the Mining Finland Responsible conference.

The Trade Fair Exhibition for Mining is organised by the Mining Finland Organisation and tagged: Mining Finland Conference”. Governor Kefas is scheduled to make a keynote address at the conference which kicks off on Novemver 5 – 7, 2024 in Ykvalazzka.

Taraba State is using the opportunity to show the world the abundance of mineral resources and mining opportunities in her domain. The team to the conference is led by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Solid Minerals, Taraba state, Mr David Matsai and the CEO, April Benjamin and Dawn Communications Limited, Uri Ngozichukwuka as Official Consultants to Taraba State Government on Mining, Education and Health.

Also on the entourage is the Vice Chancellor of Taraba State University, Professor Sunday Bako. The team will also visit the University of Oulu Mining School for a range of consultations and contractual commitments.

The event kicked off with a keynote address by Mauri Pekkarinen, a three-time former Minister of Finland. Other notable presenters included Julian Bloom from Finnpartnership, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, Vice-Chancellor of Taraba State University, who emphasized the importance of manpower development.

Prof. Bako highlighted the need for manpower development, while April Benjamin and Dawn Communication showcased investment opportunities in Taraba State. The state’s speech focused on its potential for growth and development in the mining sector.

“The choice of Finland Mining as a partner was deliberate. Their strength and expertise are essential drivers for the collaboration needed to propel development in Taraba State”, Governor Kefas disclosed. He also stated that his government is determined to leverage its strengths and opportunities for the benefit of the majority of people in Taraba State.

The conference, organized by the President of Mining Finland, is aimed at promoting responsible mining practices and encourage investment in the sector. It also provided a platform for Taraba State to showcase its potential and attract investors, while emphasizing the importance of manpower development for sustainable growth in the sector.
