Tetracore Energy Group, an integrated energy group, is excited to announce that its state-of-the-art Natural Gas Compression Facility, strategically located along the Benin-Sagamu Express Road in Atakobo, Ijebu East, Ogun State is now fully operational.

The facility, representing a total investment of USD 15 million, is being developed in two phases to meet the growing energy demands within Nigeria’s Western and Southern corridors. The first phase, now operational with a capacity of 3.1 MMscf/d, will be complemented by a second phase which will bring the facility to full capacity of 6.2 MMscf/d by March 2025 doubling the facility’s supply capabilities, with all contractual obligations fully closed out with its strategic partners to underpin the planned expansion.

With its strategic location, the facility is poised to significantly increase gas availability in Nigeria’s industrial zones, providing essential energy resources to industrial clusters and the transportation sector. By delivering efficient and cost-effective gas solutions, Tetracore’s Natural Gas Compression Facility is set to empower industries and improve energy access for customers not connected to conventional pipeline networks, including autogas for the transportation sector.

This expansion is in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Presidential CNG Initiative (Pi-CNG), which aims to accelerate the use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) across Nigeria. Tetracore’s facility will play a vital role in this initiative, providing a reliable gas supply to industries, commercial enterprises, and auto gas consumers who may lack direct pipeline connections. The Presidential CNG Initiative, state government, Association of Local Distributors of Gas (ALDG), and Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria (GACN) have supported projects like this, which are essential to advancing Nigeria’s industrial and energy goals.

Concerning  safety, the Tetracore Energy Natural Gas Compression Facility has been designed and constructed with a strong emphasis on safety to protect both personnel and the surrounding community.
