4th cohort beneficiaries kicks off with mentorship programme

The fourth cohort of the Dr. Abayomi Ajayi Physicians Mentorship Programme has kicked off with 13 young doctors drawn from across Nigeria.

It is a six-month intensive mentorship programme meant to equip fellows with life skills to succeed not only as medical officer but in life generally, which is why it focuses on four critical areas: leadership through emotional intelligence, planning and management, self-discovery, and decision-making.

The new cohort members are: Dr. Anjolaoluwa Oluyole, Dr. Favour Akunna, Dr. Haleemat Shutti, Dr. Mary Bakare, Dr. Olanrewaju Solanke, Dr. Oluwatunmise Aladesawe, Dr. Precious Obi, Dr. Rita Nwadobu, Dr. Simisola Oluwalana, Dr. Victor Odekunle, Dr. Yasir Hazma, Dr. Bello Olakeu Abdussalam, and Dr. Fervant Idakwo.

Members of the fourth cohort, like former participants who are aged 25 to 35, have been paired with 14 accomplished mentors drawn from varied fields of endavours. They include fertility expert and MD/CEO of Nordica Fertility Centre, Dr. Abayomi Ajayi; former LASU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lanre Fagbohun;  Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos, Prof. Folashade Ogunsola; UNILAG Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services), Prof. Afolabi Lesi; Managing Director of WhyteCleon Limited, Mrs. Nireti Adebayo; Interkel Group founder, Engr. Nnamdi Agbim, and Chief Client Officer of AXA Mansard, Mrs. Rasidat Adebisi.

Speaking at the on-boarding session, Ajayi said the programme aims to strengthen Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 by enhancing the training.
