The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KW-SUBEB), in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), has concluded plans to retrain 464 teachers and school heads in a 10-day capacity-building programme aimed at improving teaching and school management in the state.
The training will involve 224 Early Childhood Care Development Education (ECCDE) teachers and 240 heads of Universal Basic Education (UBE) schools, drawn from the 16 Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs) across Kwara State.
The programme, tagged Early Childhood Care Development Education, will focus on two major themes: Effective Implementation of ECCDE Curriculum Policies and Effective School Management Skills for Enhancing Quality Basic Education Delivery.
The training will be conducted in two phases: September 29 to October 3, and October 6 to October 10, running daily from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at Bishop Smith Junior Secondary School, Queen Elizabeth School, and St. Barnabas School in Ilorin.
According to the organisers, the initiative is part of the state government’s education reform agenda, which prioritises continuous teacher development to strengthen basic education, improve classroom delivery, and enhance pupils’ learning outcomes.
