TRATSEDI hosts global webinar on collaborative transport research

The Transformative Transport Service Design Initiative (TRATSEDI) recently hosted a dynamic global webinar titled: ‘Discover TRATSEDI: Collaborative platform for transport research.’

The event brought together a vibrant community of transport researchers, academics, and professionals from Africa, Europe, and Asia to explore how collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity are shaping the future of transport research and practice.

Moderated by Olawale Olalekan and hosted by Dr Emmanuel Mogaji, the session featured inspiring contributions from Dr Ogochukwu Ugboma of Lagos State University, Nigeria; Dr Sudhanshu Bhatt from India; Dr Ana Inglês from Angola and Dr Fidelma Ibili from Ghana.

Each speaker shared their unique journey with TRATSEDI, reflecting on how the platform had helped them grow, connect, and contribute to impactful global projects.

The discussion highlighted that TRATSEDI was more than a research networkTRATSEDI was more than a research network, rather a movement and a global community where knowledge meets purpose, collaboration replaces competition, and every voice matters, regardless of background or title.

Speakers emphasised how TRATSEDI members across continents were co-creating research that bridges policy, practice, and community needs, tackling vital themes such as inclusive mobility, sustainable transport, gender equity, safety, urban planning, health logistics, and digital transformation.

Throughout the session, participants echoed a shared belief that TRATSEDI thrived on active participation, mentorship, and interdisciplinary teamwork, offering opportunities for students, professionals, and institutions to collaborate, publish, and design transport systems that improve lives and promote accessibility for all.

Mogaji added: “Through platforms like TRATSEDI, research can truly become a tool for transformation turning ideas into solutions and building a global family united by the vision of a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable transport future.”
