As part of efforts to make its terminal more accessible especially to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) has upgraded its facility with a stair lift.
In a statement, LASWA said: “We have just installed a modern stair lift to make our facilities more accessible for everyone. This initiative is part of the Lagos State government’s THEMES+ agenda, ensuring that no one is left behind, especially our friends in the physically challenged community and the elderly.
“Our new stair lift is not just a piece of equipment; it’s a state-of-the-art mobility solution designed to help those who need assistance navigate stairs safely and comfortably. This reflects our ongoing commitment to providing a positive experience for everyone who visits or works with us.”
In a heartfelt message, LASWA’s General Manager, Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, said: “We believe that accessing public spaces should never be a challenge for anyone. This stair lift is just one step toward creating a friendly and welcoming environment. We’re dedicated to ensuring that using Lagos waterways and our services is easy and accessible for everyone.” He added that the stair lift is part of LASWA’s wider effort to improve its facilities, prioritizing safety, convenience, and exceptional service.
“We invite everyone to use this new facility! LASWA is committed to ensuring that the Lagos water transport system is inclusive, safe, and efficient for all residents.”
