Family donates health centre to MSSN in honour of late patriarch

The family of the late Alhaji Jimoh Atilola Adetonwa Adedigba has donated a fully equipped primary health care centre to the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), in fulfilment of a promise made during the group’s annual Islamic Vacation Course (IVC) last December.

The health facility, which will be formally commissioned on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m is located at the IVC site in Ogunmakin, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. It will serve as a medical centre for MSSN members during their programmes and also provide health services to nearby communities.

According to the family, the donation is in memory of their late patriarch, Alhaji Adedigba, who was described as a devout Muslim and community leader committed to service and education. “This project is a way of giving back to society and honouring the values that our father stood for,” a family representative said.

Dignitaries expected at the commissioning include the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Abduraheem Bayo Lawal, and the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele. Others are Senators Salis Shuaib and Akintunde Yunus, and former Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola, among other notable personalities.

The MSSN expressed gratitude to the family for the gesture, saying the health centre will not only improve the welfare of students during their annual camp but also stand as a lasting legacy for the late Alhaji Adedigba.

The commissioning ceremony is expected to draw a large crowd of students, community members, and government officials.
