Lagos AG unveils book on Supreme Court

The Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lagos State, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN), is set to present a new book titled, ‘The Supreme Court of Nigeria: History, Establishment, Jurists & Speeches’.

The public presentation will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Providence Hotel, Oba Akinjobi Way, GRA Ikeja, Lagos State.

The foreword of the book was written by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola (GCON), while the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu will be the chief launcher.

The public presentation & lecture will be chaired by the former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and Chairman Body of Bencher, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), while the former Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, Mr. Adeola Ipaye will review the book.

Dr. Kemi Pinhiero (SAN) will deliver the lecture titled, “Supreme Court: The present and the future.”

The “classical book” as so described by the CJN, noted that the Supreme Court is the highest in the hierarchy of courts in Nigeria, its history, establishment, composition and jurisdiction.

It brings up to date the roll call of the Justices of the Supreme Court with over 40 valedictory speeches of the retired Justices of the Supreme Court that may not be found in any other publication.
