The erstwhile Technical and Supply Chain Director of Coca Cola Nigeria, Engr Lawrence Alau leaves the Coca-Cola after an impactful career spanning almost a decade. While at Coca-Cola, Lawrence drove many business impacting initiatives and received a number of awards and recognitions.

Asked why he was leaving an internationally acknowledged brand for a local, he has this, “ I think I have contributed a lot the Coca-Cola business, not only in Nigeria, but in our sub-region, that i should step aside and allow those we have been able to mentor continue to drive the business, building on from where have stopped” He continued, “ I thank the Coca-Cola company for the opportunity to have contributed what i did, with the team i worked with, and will ever be grateful for the this privilege and the recognitions received”

Speaking further on the next phase Engr Alau, as he fondly called, said, “I am leaving for BUA Foods Plc, a subsidiary of a local conglomerate, that plays in many sectors in Nigeria. I will be leading a “Special Project”, when this is complemented and launched, you will know”.

On what his vision will be in the next phase, he replied, “ we shall surely be looking into optimizing the Supply chain, as that remains a critical competitive frontier. Depending on what is on the ground, I will also focus on improving an enduring environmental stewardship, exploring more eco-friendly sources of energy to reduce carbon footprint from our business.”

This move ends an era for this astute Supply Chain leader. Asked what he will miss most at Coca-Cola, he said, will certainly be the good people around here, who work tirelessly everyday to refresh lives and make people smile.
