Oniru visits Reddington, seeks partnership for better healthcare delivery in Iruland

Reddington Multi-specialists Hospital, Victoria Island, Lagos and Iruland also in Lagos, will explore opportunities for collaboration aimed at providing affordable, quality, community-based healthcare for residents of Iruland who may have limited access to conventional hospitals because of their socio-economic status or distance.

Speaking when he paid a courtesy visit to the Reddington Hospital Management as part the activities to mark five years on the throne, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, the Oniru of Iruland, Lagos State, commended the Reddington Hospital’s cutting edge medical technology, experienced specialists doctors and excellent patient care.

Lawal, accompanied on the visit by his wife, Olori Mariam, and some palace chiefs, said he is open to partnership with Reddington Hospital to establish affordable, quality community healthcare in Iruland to cater for the health needs of the residents of the kingdom.

Lawal also canvassed for periodic medical outreach within his domain by the hospital, promising to provide the right environment including financial support for the exercise.

Explaining what he called the “Theory of Brain Circulation” the revered monarch commended the Reddington Hospital Group for its policy of attracting highly qualified and experienced Nigerian medical personnel in the Diaspora back home to practice within the group.

He said such policy is needed to reduce medical tourism by Nigerians and prevent huge capital flight spent in hospitals abroad.

Responding, the Group Medical Director, Reddington Hospital, Dr. Olatunde Lalude, said the hospital shares the passion of the monarch to provide affordable, quality healthcare for his people and will be glad to work with the Palace to actualize it as it is in tandem with the mission of the hospital to provide affordable quality healthcare for Nigerians.

While welcoming the monarch to the hospital, the Chief Operating Officer of Reddington Hospital, Mr. Emmanuel Matthews said the hospital is committed to supporting His Royal Majesty’s ‘Let’s Grow Iruland Together” vision. The monarch and his chiefs were taken on a guided tour to see the facilities at the hospital.
