Redeemer’s varsity appoints new VC
The Redeemers University Board of Trustees has appointed an eminent academic and a leading professor of Monetary and Development Economics, Anthony Enisan Akinlo as the third substantive vice chancellor of the institution.
Until his appointment, he was a professor at the Department of Economics, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife, Osun State where he obtained his Ph.D. in 1995.
As an experienced university administrator, he had served in various capacities and committees at the OAU as Head of Department of Economics(2002 to 2006),Director, Centre for Industrial Research and Development now Institute of Entrepreneurship and Development Studies (2007 to 2011) and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences(2013 to 2015).
He has over 130 publications in the areas of reforms and growth in reputable journals locally and globally to his credit. He had served and also currently serving on the editorial board of a number of high impact journals of Monetary and Development Economics. He has also supervised 23 Ph.D theses, five M.Phil theses, 31 M.Sc. and numerous undergraduate projects.
Professor Akinlo has participated in many international sponsored research works and carried out consultancies for many organisations and international development agencies as African Economic Research Consortium, Institute of Developing Economics, Population Research Fund and United Nations Development Programme just but to mention a few.
He was a visiting professor to United Nations World Institute of Development and Research, Helsinki, Finland, Institute of Development Economics, Japan and many other top rated universities in Nigeria.
He is a Pastor-in-Charge of Zone of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Osun Province 7,Ile-Ife,Osun State. He is happily married to Professor Olayinka Akinlo, Professor of Management and Accounting at the Department of Management & Accounting, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State with children.
