Gobir emerges CIPM’s president, unveils strategic agenda

Ahmed Gobir has emerged as the new President of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).

He was announced as president during the CIPM 55th yearly general meeting held at the institute’s headquarters, in Lagos.

In his inaugural address, Gobir expressed gratitude to the members and unveiled his strategic agenda, encapsulated by the acronym SOAR.


According to him, S is to Strengthen strategic alliances and collaborations for the institute; O is to Optimise membership value proposition; A is to Automate and digitalise processes and R is to Reskill and retool employees and leaders.

He said his inauguration signals a new era of inclusivity and diversity in the CIPM’s leadership.

The new CIPM boss added that as the institute embarks on a new chapter under his leadership, it remains dedicated to advancing the Human Resource (HR) profession and driving positive change in Nigeria and beyond.

During the ceremony, the immediate past President of CIPM, Olusegun Mojeed, highlighted significant achievements during his tenure.

During his leadership, he said the institute’s revenue crossed the N1 billion mark while the institute’s total assets crossed the N2 billion mark.

According to him, in the last three years, the institute’s revenue grew by over 100 per cent from N586 million in the 2021 financial year to over N1 billion.

Additionally, Mojeed stressed that his tenure propelled the institute onto the global stage even as it welcomed over 3,000 new members.
