God wants all souls saved

It is expedient for believers across the globe to be reminded that our Lord Jesus Christ died for the salvation of all men. According to the plan and programme of God, all human beings must be saved and none should go to hell fire. In the concluding parts of the lead scripture, it is clearly stated: “Not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

There are three aspects of the will of God; the first is, His sovereign will. He is completely independent and has the ability to do all things. No power can challenge Him. The second is, His moral will. The moral law (the perfect law that accepts everybody that believes in Him and obeys His words); and the third is, His desires or will coming from His heart of love. It is this God’s heart of love for all that informed the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to die for the sins of this world, so that, men can be saved. John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The nature of God is love, hence there is no discrimination in offering salvation to all so far one keys into the sacrificial death of His Son, Jesus Christ and accepting that through the crucifixion of that innocent and sinless Son of God, your own eternal life in heaven is assured so far you live a holy lifestyle. God created the first man and made provisions for his comfort in the Garden of Eden. The essence of creating man is for man to serve Him. Even when our first parents, Adam and Eve, violated divine instruction and disobeyed God, He still opened another window through which man can be saved and live eternal life in bliss.

These are enough reasons to prove to men that God loves everyone and wants all of us to be saved. 1Timothy 2:3-4 says: “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour. 4: Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”

God is our Saviour and our Lord Jesus Christ is His only begotten son, both of them are the same. If you encounter the son you have equally seen the father vis-à-vis the other. We should, therefore, place our faith in God and His son Jesus Christ as our Saviour, the mediator through whom we meet our God, the Father. We should bear in mind that God wants all men to be saved. He demands our worship, which is the purpose He created us. Our salvation and eternal life in heaven is more important than the blessings of this world. Our service and worship to God must not be based on earthly blessings, but to serve God for whom He is — our creator who loved us while we were still sinners.

It is rather unfortunate that many people are still considering if either to depend on the things and pleasures of the world or to serve God and have eternal life at the end of their stay on earth. This is why Prophet Joel in the book of Joel 3:14-16 lamented: “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. 15: The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. 16: The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.”

Prophet Joel is lamenting that despite the fact that the day of the Lord is near and the sun and moon will soon withdraw their light, while darkness rules the day that many are still in the valley of indecision. There is need for quick decision and action now the grace is still available and the opportunity still abound for repentance. God is calling on all men to come to the knowledge of the truth, accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, so that, they will be saved when the trumpet shall sound. Time waits for no one and it will rather be unfortunate that after Jesus Christ death on the Cross of Calvary, people will still go to hell fire. This is contrary to the will of God for the man He has created.

Matthew 9:36-38 says: “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37: Then saith he unto his disciples, the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few. 38: Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”

In the world today, a lot of people lack knowledge and are confused because of the dearth of proper guidance. There is need for believers, missionaries and evangelists to go into the field to preach the gospel. Many people who are wallowing in wealth think all is well with them, not knowing that their souls have been mortgaged with earthly possessions that lead nowhere. Their faith is in their earthly possessions as they forget that the giver of wealth will one day ask them to give account of how they have lived their lives on earth.

The poor on the other hand, may be thinking that God has forgotten them without knowing that they are to put their faith in God and serve Him, despite their poverty, as the salvation of their souls and eternal life in heaven are more important than earthly wealth that does not stand the test of time. Christ died for all and wants all He had died for to be saved.

2Corinthians 5:14-15 says: “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead. 15: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”

Our Lord Jesus Christ died for all, therefore, believers should go into the field to preach to unbelievers and to bring them to the knowledge of the truth. Their salvation is more important than the things of this world. Let no man think he is comfortable and has lived a fulfilled life when he is yet to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. Christ is calling you to repentance, you should heed to that call to make heaven at the end of life. Your welfare in eternity is our concern; please surrender your life now to Christ, so that, it shall be well with you.
