God’s wonders as of old

Psalm 77:10-12, “And I said, this is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High. 11 I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. 12 I will meditate also of all thy works, and talk of thy doings.”

Our Creator, the Almighty Father is the God of all possibilities. In Him, there is the power to do all things. By all standards, what He cannot do does not exist. When He intervenes in any situation, there is always a solution in favour of His children. In any circumstance, we are encouraged when we remember Him and His power to do all things. In the leading scripture, the Psalmist is encouraging himself that even in his infirmity, he would recall the years of the right hand of the Highest, His works and wonders of the old. There is the firm belief He will do it again, even in that ugly situation. This is, indeed, the encouragement we have in the Lord that He is a wonder-working God Who has the power to do all things, especially in the lives of the people, the believers who serve Him wholeheartedly.

When God fights for His people, He ensures the enemy is fought to a standstill. His intervention in the lives of the Israelites, while in the land of bondage in Egypt, proved that He always sees things to their logical conclusion. Pharaoh refused to release the Israelites, but the plagues culminating in the killing of the first-born sons of every Egyptian family forced the King of Egypt to release them.

The Bible in Exodus 12:29-32, says: “And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon … and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the Lord, as ye have said. 32. Also, take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.”

The killing of all the first-born sons of every Egyptian family in one night was indeed a wonderful act. Only God could have done such a thing. Pharaoh was forced to release them unconditionally. The Egyptian King, who earlier denied knowing the living God was forced to release the Israelites and even asked the Israelites to bless him. This is an involuntary statement, a proof of the hand of God in action.

While the people of Israel journeyed, they became trapped between the Red Sea in front and high mountains on both sides. At this time, God demonstrated wonderful works again by dividing the sea for the people to pass on dry ground.

The Bible in Exodus 14:13-17, noted: “And Moses said unto the people, fear ye not, standstill, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more. 14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. 15 And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward. 16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. 17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.” The parting of the Red Sea was, indeed, a wonderful act that could only be achieved by a powerful God. The dry land the Israelites passed through was another miracle God did. Vengeance belongs to God and He took the pound of flesh from the Egyptians by allowing them follow the Israelites, only to get them drowned in the middle of the sea. God avenged all the sufferings and injustices the Israelites were subjected to in the land of Egypt. Nowhere in history has a flowing sea parted, forming walls on both sides to allow people walk through the middle to the other bank. This is the wonder working God in action.

God had to drive out the original occupants of the Promised Land to enable the Israelites take possession. Joshua expressed it thus in Joshua 3:10, “And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.” It is never an easy task driving people away from their homestead. God did it for the Israelites against people who are more in terms of population and better warriors. In one of the military expeditions in which five kingdoms fought against the Israelites, Joshua had to command the sun to standstill till all the enemies were defeated. Joshua 10:12-13 says: “Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. 13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.” Whenever the name of the Lord is put on the line, He will arise to defend His name. Joshua spoke to the Lord demanding the Sun to standstill and it came to pass. The rising and setting of the Sun is an eternal occurrence, which cannot be altered, but the intervention of the wonder working God made it possible.

He demonstrated His wonders again in 2Kings 6:2-7 in this manner: “And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us. 2 Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye. 3 And one said, be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go. 4 So, he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood. 5 But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! For it was borrowed. 6 And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place and he cut a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim. 7 Therefore said he, take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.” At God’s immediate intervention, an axe head, a heavy iron swam. Naturally, the iron would have sunk into the bottom of the sea, but God made it to float. As a wonder working God, all things are possible with Him. Hand over whatever may be giving you sleepless nights to God in prayer. His timely intervention will bring solutions to the problem, and you will be glad in Jesus’ name.

Testimony Of The Lord’s Doing
Bought Landed Property By Divine Direction

MY name is Florence Ifeanyi. I live at Ilaje in Lagos State. I joined the Lord Chosen Church in 2013 and on that first day in the church, the General Pastor made a declaration saying: “Those who need a miracle car, collect your car. Those who need a miracle house, collect your house,” and I claimed it. After service, I went home and told my husband all that the pastor said and he replied: “The church and the pastor are filled with God’s power.”
Bro Okoro, who could not walk without clutches for nine years was healed

After the discussion, we went to bed and I dreamt that I was in the church and General Pastor smiled at me and also asked if I have roofed my house. I laughed in that dream because the statement sounded like a joke to me, as I neither have a land nor a building, lest roofing. So, waking up, I narrated the dream to my family members.

Later at 6 a.m. the same day, my husband’s phone rang and it was one of my brothers who lived in Badagry. I picked the call and he told me about a land that was available for sale. He said I should come and meet him as soon as possible.

The next day, I went to him and he showed me the land. The land was like the one our General Pastor showed me in the dream, so, I was convinced and I paid for it. My brother in no time began to mould blocks and we fenced and began to build.

One day, I got a call that one side of my fence has fallen and destroyed my neighbour’s window. I went there and observed that two rooms in my building were also destroyed.

However, the people affected took the case to the police. So, I came to church, on a Thursday and tabled the matter to God. Graciously, Our General Pastor mentioned my case in the service. He said: “That person that the enemy wants to seize your property, I cancel it in Jesus’ name.” I claimed it, and went with my apron titled, “God Has The Answer,” to met the man. And after some discussions, he returned the land to me without asking for compensation. Praise the Lord!
