Holiness

Text: 1 Peter 1:15-16
The first man, Adam, was mandated to be holy to enjoy the company of God, but he carelessly lost it by disobeying God’s instruction. This singular act cost God, Jesus to return the opportunity to man. Holiness is also the nature of God. On the other hand, if a believer does not see holiness as his original nature and pursue it, he will find it difficult to attain that great height with God. Holiness is what gives a believer a right standing with God.

Holiness is the power of God’s throne; it is the power with which the devil was defeated and driven out of heaven.

Holiness is the speed of a believer. It is the springboard that lifts the feet of a Christian. Holiness gives a believer whatever he needs in life. It is the only weapon that attracts other things to man. A child of God that leads a holy life overtakes his contemporaries in a brief moment. A holy man is never late in life because he can meet up, as long as he remains holy. No man can walk with God without holiness. This is the limitation of the church of Christ today!

The church is the life of Christ; it is Christ’s manifestation on earth. Therefore, holiness is supposed to be the life of the church. A church where holiness reigns supreme, witches and wizards cannot operate because it is a great weapon in the hand of a believer. The devil knows that the security of the church is holiness, which is why he took it away from her.

What counts in the sight of God is holiness and not the beautiful edifice and the number of jets a church leader has. The call of the church is a call to holiness. To walk with God in this New Year, there must be an uninterrupted holiness in your life. Holiness is not a Herculean task; it is easy since it is the original nature of man from creation. The natural environment of man is holiness. This was the undoing of the first man, Adam. He left his natural habitat of holiness, hence, his death. He was literally separated from God and lost his position. So, when a man loses holiness, he is automatically separated from God spiritually; simply put, he dies spiritually.

To enjoy peace, progress, prosperity, security, success, among others, in this New Year, live in absolute holiness. This is because holiness attracts good things of life to a believer.

Obedience is inseparable from holiness. There must be total obedience to God’s word. All the instructions of God in the New Year must be obeyed without any excuse.

The victory of a child of God is hinged on holiness and to remain in victory in the New Year, holiness must be maintained. Therefore, strive to attain holiness as you journey in the New Year.
