Directions

Now you have everything ready, it’s time to make magic!

  1. First, gather and prep all the materials and tools you need.
  2. Soak your old candle jars in hot water to remove any remaining wax or dirt. If you are using a new mason jar, simply wash it in warm soapy water and let it dry upside-down on a clean rack. You can also dry them in an oven if you have one. Please ensure that the jars are completely dry with no single drop of water in or outside the jars.
  3. Assemble your candle wicks. Take out the candle jars you left in the oven or on the rack to dry and attach the candle wicks to them.
  4. Ensure that the wicks are in place, then measure out your candle wax. There are several kinds of candle wax, you can use beeswax, soy wax, or paraffin wax.
  5. Place the double boiler pot over the stove and add the candle wax. Set your stove from low to medium heat as the wax melts.
  6. Bring down the wax once it is thoroughly melted. Add in some drops of essential oil and stir it together with your silicone spatula.
  7. Wrap the remaining part of the candle wicks around the broomsticks or skewers and place them on top of the jar to hold them in place.
  8. Place the old newspapers under the jars, then slowly pour the melted candle wax into the jars. Leave some space at the top of the jar as you pour where you will add the flower petals.
  9. Top off the candles with a little more wax, then allow them to cool down and solidify.
  10. Once the candles are solidified, light them up and fill your home with the aromatic goodness you made from scratch.

You can sell these online or even give them to your loved one at their next big celebration.
