Kanye West Calls Himself ‘God’ in Interview

In an interview with Big Boy TV, Kanye West, the artist formerly known as Ye, has once again stirred the pot of public discourse with his latest declarations about religion and divinity.

West, whose journey through spirituality has been publicly documented through his music, particularly in albums like “Donda” and “Jesus is King,” opened up about his personal struggles with faith.

“There’s a lot of stuff I went through that I prayed and I ain’t see Jesus show up,” West revealed, expressing his disillusionment with traditional forms of prayer.

He criticized the passive nature of prayer without action, saying, “We ain’t praying our way out of prison. We ain’t praying our way out the abortion clinics. We ain’t praying our way to get our land back that was always ours after gentrification, after the Harlem Renaissance and Black Wall Street was burned to the ground. Them prayers ain’t working.”

The conversation took a more controversial turn when West, discussing his resilience in the face of an often tumultuous music industry, proclaimed, “’Cause I’m God. And anyone who wants to disagree, I’m the God of me. You can’t tell me who I am. I can’t tell y’all. I could tell y’all. It’s your job to listen. I’m the God of me. I don’t know if I’m in heaven already.”

Kanye released a new album titled “VULTURES 1” with Ty Dolla $ign on February 9, 2024. The album has a total of 15 songs with Playboi Carti and Rich The Kid featuring on one song called Carnival.

The album achieved notable success on various charts. It peaked at number 2 on the Official Albums Chart and secured the top position on the Official Album Downloads Chart.

Additionally, “VULTURES 1” spent two weeks at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
