Lagos Achievers Lions Club celebrates 25th anniversary

It was a memorable day for members of the Lagos Achievers Lions Club (LALC), as they marked their 25th anniversary recently.


Speaking during the event, the president, Ifeoluwa Ibirogba, said that the momentous occasion calls for reflection, gratitude and a renewed commitment to the mission of service and community betterment. “As we gathered here today, we are reminded of the incredible journey that has brought us to the milestone. 25 years ago, a group of visionary individuals came together with a shared vision of making a positive impact in our community. They recognised the power of collective action and the potential for change when people unite for a common cause. Their dedication, passion and unwavering commitment laid the foundation for what has become a beacon of hope and services in our community through the formation of LALC.

She recalled that over the past quarter’s century, Lions Club have been at the forefront of positive change, touching the lives of countless individuals, families, and organisations through its various initiatives, projects, and programmes. “We have made a tangible difference in addressing critical needs, supporting the vulnerable and fostering a spirit of compassion and generosity.

We provided vision screenings, eye surgeries, and eyeglasses to those in need, organised food drives to combat hunger or spearheaded environmental conservation efforts.”


She however commended members and leaders of the club who contributed immensely to the success of initiated projects. “Let’s draw strength and inspiration from the spirit of services and let us recommit ourselves to the noble cause of making our community and the world a better place for all.”

Chairman of the occasion, Former Senate Leader and ex-Chairman of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, said he made a good decision to join Lions Club many years ago as his membership of the group allowed him to build friendships that positively affected and influenced his life.

Past President, Mrs. Folashade Shotanmide, said the Club in its 25 years will be producing a district governor. She called for support and financial donations for projects while commending members and leaders of the club. “Owing to the incessant accident occurrences in this axis, Lagos Achievers Club has considered having Zebra crossing in 10 areas in Obalaende environs,” she said.
