Access Bank Celebrates Africanism At 2019 Design Fashion Africa Show

Africa’s biggest retail bank, Access Bank, sponsored the maiden edition of The Design Fashion Africa Show (DFA), which was held at The Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.

The 3-day event which lasted from October 3 – 5, 2019 hosted both existing and upcoming Nigerian designers as well as designers from 54 other African countries like Kenya, Uganda, Senegal, Ethiopia, just to mention a few.

Themed Africa: The Runway of the World, the DFA initiative aligns with Access Bank’s goal of supporting and celebrating its Micro-small and Medium Enterprises in the fashion and design industry.

These designers showcased their designs at the marketplace of the event which enabled them to engage guests and drive sales of their designs.

Access Bank also showed its support by providing each of the designers with payment platforms like Point-of-Sale (POS) devices to facilitate ease of transactions between them and the buyers.

TV host, Idia Aisien hosted the DFA showcase alongside Actor, Eso Okolocha, while popular Nigerian designer, Mai Atafo facilitated the training and mentoring for the designers. Alongside other facilitators, he gave them tips on what to expect and do as they begin or progress as entrepreneurs in the fashion business.

Attendees were entertained by dancers, poets and amazing artistes like Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, and more, who graced the stage and wowed the audience with their musical performances while the designers showcased their designs.
