Apple Introduces Stylish iPad Pros And Macs
Apple has unveiled a new version of its MacBook Air laptop, this time made of recycled aluminium, as well as a new Mac Mini, all pricier than their predecessors.
Apple also unveiled a new version of its iPad Pro tablet (11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros) with a screen that looks nearly edge-to-edge and boasts a faster processor. It includes features from the latest iPhones.
These are some of its highlights:
New features: The new iPads which were unveiled in New York has new features including a Face ID, a USB-C charging port, and a new “Liquid Retina” display.
Carbon footprint: The Mac Mini unveiled Tuesday — the latest version of Apple’s high-performance mini desktop computer — is also manufactured with 100 percent recycled aluminium and plastic as well.
Aesthetics: The iPads which have been appraised as aesthetically pleasing because of its slim bezels come in the colour black. When paired with the Smart Keyboard Folio, it resembles a laptop.
iPad Home Buttons: The iPads’ buttons are replaced with the iOS 12 gesture controls. Instead, you can swipe the edges of the screen to operate the home screen or whatever app you want to.
Apple Pencil: The Apple Pencil takes on a new look and a flat side. You can also charge it through a magnetic attachment.
Processors: The new iPads have different processors (A12X Bionic chip) from the 10.5-inch and 9.7-inch which makes it faster with apps.
Price: While the MacBook Air costs $1,199, the mini costs $799. For the iPad, the 12.9-inch model costs $1,899 and the 11-inch starts at $799.
Date: The MacBook Air and Mac Mini will be available on November 7.
